Masion Inn (aka Reichmann Estates) is a large MPD-protected property made up of several large homes and a barracks for guards.

Location

Mansion Inn is located in Rivertown North a few hundred yards uphill from Lake Lawrence and approximately 1 mile northeast of the Tombstone, 4.5 miles north of Summerland, and 2.5 miles south of Whitefish.

History

This property, a series of five buildings in all, has served a similar purpose for over a century: housing the very well-to-do and their servants. The crown jewel of the property is the mostly restored Mansion Inn, a six-bedroom, five bath home so-called for the former owner Augustus Reichman's penchant for inviting guests to stay for weeks at a time due to it's secluded location.

In addition to Mansion Inn, there is a partially restored four-bedroom guest house used for visitors, as well as a dilapidated four-bedroom guest house and a servants' quarters used to house MPD guards.

The buildings were discovered in relatively good condition during the later stages of Project Reclamation. To cease his wife's incessant carping about living in the post-industrial dreariness of Rivertown South, Augustus Reichman ordered the homes to be rehabilitated and made ready for his family. This decision coincided with MPD efforts to establish a northern headquarters at the site that would become the Tombstone.

Condition

Mansion Inn rivals Ol' Federal in terms of the quality of restoration and, because the home is entirely restored, in some ways surpasses it. Though it still betrays water and smoke stains on some floors and walls, it is in remarkably good condition and well-stocked with expensive works of art and decorations, some of which have been deployed to cover up some of the building's flaws.

The guest houses are in poorer condition, both drafty and dark, but imminently livable. The better of the two is reserved for Reichman guests; the more rundown one is sparsely decorated and houses the highest ranking MPD officers stationed at Mansion Inn. The servants' quarters are functional but hardly comfortable.

Inhabitants

The Reichman Family occupies most of the bedrooms at Mansion Inn, with the matriarch Frederika Reichman living in the master suite, next to the room of her eldest daughter Katrina who, like her mother, never ventures far from the home. Her son Rudolph and second-youngest daughter Abby keep rooms at Mansion Inn but often spend weeks away cavorting with friends.

The other inhabitants are constantly rotating thorugh the estates, whether they be friends and colleagues of the Reichmans or MPD guards on rounds.

Frederika has been accused of hoarding valuables from the past world and stuffing them into Mansion Inn as decoration. Their value is purely nostalgic since fine works of art taken from the ransacked Rivertown museums have little worth to those scraping out an existence. However, the home is full of fine foods and other luxuries, such as whiskeys, wines, cigarettes, and cigars.
