Dario Talilulu was a post-apocalyptic baby born in the outskirts of Sweetwater, where he, his mother, and older sister struggled to find the food and resources to survive. The young family finally settled in Prairieville, though his mother and sister were required to work hard to keep their place, and Dario was also pressed into service at a young age. His mother died through accidental food poisoning when she ate contaminated pork, leaving Dario and his sister to fend for themselves.
Dario was taught to hunt and fish by the men in the village and proved to be a capable survivor. He stole a rifle and a handgun and set out to seek greener pastures as a 19-year-old man. He roams Greater Rivertown scavenging and trading goods. He is amoral, only seeking to add to his holdings. He returns to Prairieville frequently to look in on his sister, who was harrassed in the wake of his disappearance with valuable weapons. In the years since he has paid back their worth and his contributions have freed his sister from her most grinding chores. He divides opinion among the residents of Prairieville as he is either loved or feared. One hand was mangled in an incident he refuses to speak of any further than describing the injury as a result of a "deal gone wrong."
Dario has a deep reserve of patience and can wait calmly for hours on end in order to take advantage of a situation, such as waiting for someone he's stalking to put their guard down. He can be ruthless if necessary and does not shy away from violence as a solution to many problems. He is illiterate and distrusts anything that's not tangible. His dispassionate persona stands in contrast to the dedication he shows to his sister. He also has an uncommonly high pain threshold.
Though he seldom speaks of it, his short term goal is to crack into the vaults at Sweetwater that he, like so many others, feel would be loaded with valuable treasures. He plots and plans this day and night, interrogating the people he meets about their knowledge of electronics and security systems. He is open to working with others in brief stints and on specific projects, as long as views the relationship as advantageous.
He quite possibly and literally could be the world's worst small talker.
Dario has no permanent residence as he roams widely. He does, however, spend a few nights each week at his sister's home in Prairieville as well as buys at least a night or two lodging at Barnum's Bazaar, where he often visits to trade.
Dario is a post-apocalyptic warrior. He has no social graces or education, other than the encyclopedic knowledge he has regarding weapons and inflicting pain. While his book smarts don't register, his street smarts are off the charts and he is not stupid. People have tried to take advantage of Dario and they almost always come out losers. Dario rarely smiles or loses his cool, though he does get annoyed quickly especially with people who talk too much. Dario strikes an intimidating figure as he goes about all of his business--eating, sleeping, bartering, making love--with a mechanical dispassion that many find unsettling.
