Ascension Hospital
Ascension Hospital was a large medical facility offering a wide range of treatments and emergency services. It was badly damaged by an explosion during a riot on 3 July 2089.

The hospital straddles the imaginary border separating Rivertown Central and Rivertown North. It is just a few blocks west of Lake Lawrence.
Ascension is the oldest hospital in the Greater Rivertown region and had a long history of caring for the most vulnerable populations--children, the poor, the elderly--inhabiting Rivertown. The hospital had close ties to both the nursing college and medical school in Rivertown and continued to grow as much as possible, given its urban setting.
The hospital responded quickly to the superflu epidemic, first by taking in the earliest sufferers of the disease and soon after placed itself under voluntary quarantine in a failed bid to reduce the spread of the disease. The hospital remained open and treating patients with a skeleton staff through the summer of 2089, when one of the last large-scale riots broke out at the intersection of three major streets that saw rioters throw firebombs at police. Whether it was a freak accident or as some witnesses claimed intentional sabotage, the gas main beneath the building exploded, killing dozens of skirmishes and rocking the building from its foundation. It was quickly evacuated as fire swept through its corridors. Surprisingly it did not collapse, though it still sits out of kilter and could seemingly fall in on itself at any moment.
This is a large and very dangerous structure that threatens to collapse at any given moment. The interior was exposed to flames and high heat for an extended period, burning most everything inside to cinders and ash. Floors and ceilings are likely to crumble at the slightest disturbance.
Ascension Hospital is widely considered to be a death trap by the city's scavengers and it thus avoided by even the most foolhardy souls.
There is a very low chance that the building contains many, if any, items of value.
