Jack
Jack is a psychedelic hallucinogen inducing euphoria and altered perception of reality for the user. Evidence suggests that the drug is psychologically but not physically addictive. Long-term side effects habitual usage are unknown.

Jack is an intravenous liquid drug that is stored in small glass phials the size of a thumbnail. The phials are inserted into a 2" x .75" dispenser. An adult can hold both the dispenser and several phials in the palm of the hand.
To administer jack, the user inserts a phial of the drug in the device's tip then places the dispenser over a finger or toe. When the user clicks the button, a needle pierces the vial's lid and injects the drug into the bloodstream. The drug begins working within seconds.
Users of jack experience vivid psychedelic hallucinations where the grimness of the world is temporarily replaced by pastoral visions of peace, plenty, and harmony. This process is called "jacking," "jacking up," or "rambling." The nature and duration of the hallucination depends on the formula concocted (which can vary greatly) as well as the psychological make-up of the individual user. Most experiences last forty-five minutes to an hour but can be as short as a few seconds or as long as several hours. Jack's effects can be intensified and extended when taken cooperatively with other users, as the imagined world becomes deeper and richer as users describe their experiences, making the illusory world more detailed and real.
Poorly compounded jack causes either nightmarish visions from which the user cannot escape, or overly intense experiences that embed themselves in the user's mind and become intertwined with the person's memory, making it impossible to distinguish between true experiences and fabrications. High quality jack terminates the hallucinatory illusion abruptly, leaving the user in no doubt between the dream state and reality.
Jack is extremely rare having been developed in two small sub-labs and only produced in limited quantites. The vast majority of the the Greater Rivertown area are unaware of the drug's existence. The existence of jack was discovered by parties within the MPD, who began a covert sweep of the region to recover additional stores of the drug.
