FROM: Pele's Tears <noreply-transcript@pelestears.net> Hello Trent Hergenrader, PELE'S TEARS TRANSCRIPT WITH USERS SM *** (4:29 PM) SYMON MELI USE THIS ONE!!! CHAT ROOM USER GM HAS LOGGED ON USER SM HAS LOGGED ON <GM 16:30> Welcome to Le Grande Experiment! Partial disclosure: we're running SIX campaigns simultaneously this afternoon (Trent has 3, Bryce has 3) and you've all logged into your own private rooms per our email earlier this week. The GMs are going to be keeping you posted as best you can but you might want to have a book or iPhone handy as there may be gaps as we work out what exactly is happening. Remember that three dots [...] means hang on, there's more text coming. PLEASE KEEP CHATTER TO A MINIMUM. This is going to be difficult enough to manage without sorting through all kinds of cutesy emoticons and jokes. We can joke about it later, if it all works. Also try to keep questions to a minimum. When you need to roll we will tell you what attributes to check, so don't ask: we'll tell you. And while you're waiting, have your stats sheet handy and try to get into character and think about what you would do next. Remember your long pauses are action for someone else, so just hang in there. And without further adieu we'll get going... USER SM HAS LEFT THE CHAT USER GM HAS LEFT THE CHAT

SUBJECT: Your Pele's Tears Transcript
<GM 16:34> Your squad is crouched in the darkness waiting for the swap to begin. Your intelligence was accurate though since there are lots of scavengers entering the building, including women and children. Not only is this the biggest congregation of scavengers you've ever seen, but you rarely see whole families together, but there are several in attendance. As you sit and watch, you can hear the crowd's murmurs die down as someone starts speaking. A few seconds later you hear some angry shouting from inside. [Starting playing!]
<GM 16:36> The CO gives the order to move in.
<SM 16:37> I move in!
<GM 16:39> Okay, you move in. It doesn't seem like you've been detected. All systems go.
<GM 16:42> Hold tight…
<GM 16:46> You watch as a scavenger exits the building and one of the MPD drops him with a rifle butt…
<GM 16:47> Signal coming…
<GM 16:48> There it is! There are a few armed scavengers and the CO directed you to take one out. You have initiative. Roll STRENGTH + MELEE. Need two 6s.
<SM 16:50> [ 4 0 2 3 7 0 5 2]
<GM 16:50> Holy cow that's a lot of dice. I see at least two perfects in there, so your man is KO'd and then some.
<GM 16:54> Okay, the team executes really well and all junkies are down except for one, who has taken a young girl hostage. He's holding her by her hair and is using her as a shield, with a gun up to her chin.
<SM 16:55> Do I have a shot at him?
<GM 16:56> No. Ellen's shouting at him.
<GM 16:58> She's telling him to give it up and he doesn't seem convinced…
<GM 16:59> She's shouting that she's going to gun him down like a dog and he finally chucks the gun down. But…
<GM 17:00> A grenade flies through he window. Roll DEX + ALERT. Need two successes.
<SM 17:02> EZ!
<SM 17:03> [ 5 5 8 4 ]
<GM 17:05> You feel a searing pain in your leg. Damage not terrible but you're feelting it. Downgrade your health to hurt. -1 on all rolls
<SM 17:06> Tis merely a flesh wound. Ain't no thang for SYMON MELI
<SM 17:06> Can I shoot back?
<GM 17:06> Yes. But you're being fired on from all angles, it feels
<GM 17:07> If you shoot from cover you have less a chance to hit, but less of a chance you will be hit
<SM 17:08> No hiding for Meli.
<SM 17:08> I stand right up in that window and shoot at anything that tmoves.
<GM 17:08> You sure?
<SM 17:11> Damn straight. Honey badger don't care.
<GM 17:12> Just need to do some rolling…
<GM 17:14> Roll DEX + Firearms. You're just shooting at flashing lights on the hillside. Muzzle flashes. I'll let you know if you get hit…
<SM 17:16> [ 5 1 8 8 1 4 ]
<SM 17:16> Damn that's weak
<GM 17:18> Well, you can't tell if you're hitting anything but, amazingly, you can hear all sorts of bullets whizzing past you and hitting the concrete all around, but none hit you. You know what they say about God looking after fools and drunks
<GM 17:20> Attack seems to be abating though. Looks like you scared the hell out some people. The scndary CO is calling for you to fall back. A quick look around shows that several MPD guards are down for good. Lots of dead and wounded scavengers.
<SM 17:22> Meli falls back. Meli follows orders!
<GM 17:25> Just a sec...
<GM 17:30> Back! Okay so your CO wants you to lay down some suppressing fire so you can escape out a side entrance the attackers haven't covered.
<SM 17:31> [ 2 8 3 7 8 2 ]
<GM 17:31> Ah, you didn't need to roll necessarily but that's fine. 3 successes means yes, you spray the hillside with lead. You hear a few cries too.
<SM 17:32> Sweet/
<GM 17:34> Your squad bursts out into the night and you're running in a cover formation. The streets are entirely empty as every scavenger in a six block radius has gotten the hell out of dodge with all that gunfire. You can't tell if you're being pursued or not, but the CO directs you into what looks like an old warehouse so you can regroup. He orders you into a defensive formation and for complete silence as you wait and listen. You can still hear gun reports but they sound a block or two away...
<GM 17:36> Then the CO asks for a light to assess your wounds. As soon as the light snaps on you see a pair of feet just inside the circle of light and they don't belong to the MPD.
<GM 17:36> Several of the guards open fire and put a half-dozen rounds in the figure who was standing there, who gets blasted across the room.
<SM 17:37> I raise my gun too. WTH?
<GM 17:38> You all watch in grim, silent fascination as the body struggles to rise. It's shaking like crazy and as it stands you realize that it's the creepy cyborg kid who somehow followed your crew during your escape. He was so quiet no one noticed, and now he comes walking back over to you.
<SM 17:39> Damn
<SM 17:39> What's everyone else doing?
<GM 17:39> Just standing there looking at him. He's all torn up. One of his ears is hanging off. His whole body is shaking, like he's freezing to death. But his expression is totally neutral, like nothing has happened. It seriously freaks everyone out.
<SM 17:40> Damn. That IS creepy
<GM 17:41> The CO gets his wits about himself first. He checks everyone over to make sure no one needs immediate medical condition. A couple guys help bind your leg to staunch the flow of blood, and then you fall out and double-time it back to Summerland, with everyone on high alert.
<SM 17:42> What about the kid?
<GM 17:42> He follows you back, like a puppy. But he's herky-jerky and clearly isn't right. He falls behind but arrives at the Summerland gates a few minutes behind you…
<GM 17:43> And you're immediately ordered to a debriefing room where you will be questioned on what went wrong and what you saw. They whisk the cyborg kid off to parts unknown.
<GM 17:43> And we'll draw a line under the session with that bit of action!"
<SM 17:44> Whoa. Crazy.
<GM 17:45> You don't know the half of it. :)
<GM 17:45> I'll drop you an email to confirm the last session okay? Sure you can make it?
<SM 17:47> Yes, will do my best. Might need to be later in the week.
<GM 17:48> Whatever. Just as long as you have something to write about. More worried about having stories than game sessions.
<SM 17:48> Yeah sorry about missing the last few weeks. Life got nuts.
<SM 17:48> I'm stayin gup late to write stories about Meli's past though to plug holes.
<GM 17:49> That's fine. It's a bummer you missed the sessions but life comes first. I'm going to eavesdrop on the other group. Later
