<GM 16:30> Welcome to Le Grande Experiment! Partial disclosure: we're running SIX campaigns simultaneously this afternoon (Trent has 3, Bryce has 3) and you've all logged into your own private rooms per our email earlier this week. The GMs are going to be keeping you posted as best you can but you might want to have a book or iPhone handy as there may be gaps as we work out what exactly is happening. Remember that three dots [...] means hang on, there's more text coming. PLEASE KEEP CHATTER TO A MINIMUM. This is going to be difficult enough to manage without sorting through all kinds of cutesy emoticons and jokes. We can joke about it later, if it all works. Also try to keep questions to a minimum. When you need to roll we will tell you what attributes to check, so don't ask: we'll tell you. And while you're waiting, have your stats sheet handy and try to get into character and think about what you would do next. Remember your long pauses are action for someone else, so just hang in there. And without further adieu we'll get going...
<GM 16:34> Your squad is crouched in the darkness waiting for the swap to begin. Your intelligence was accurate though since there are lots of scavengers entering the building, including women and children. Not only is this the biggest congregation of scavengers you've ever seen, but you rarely see whole families together, but there are several in attendance. As you sit and watch, you can hear the crowd's murmurs die down as someone starts speaking. A few seconds later you hear some angry shouting from inside. [Starting playing!]
<EJ 16:35> I give the order to move in, slow and steady. They will wait for my signal.
<GM 16:37> Okay you will roll for the two squads. Roll PERCEPTION + STEALTH. Need at least one 7 for success.
<EJ 16:37> Wow. I only have four dots. (crossed fingers)
<EJ 16:37> [ 8 6 5 3]
<GM 16:39> Success…
<GM 16:40> You advance without being detected. It looks like there are some guys with guns yelling at someone who is at the front of the room talking.
<EJ 16:41> I motion to the squads to take out the guys with the guns. On my count.
<GM 16:45> A scavenger pops out the door, like he's heading out for the night.
<EJ 16:45> I hit him over the head as quietly as possible. Don't want to attract any attention.
<GM 16:45> Roll STRNGHT + MELEE. Need a 7.
<EJ 16:45> [ 1 7 3 7 8 ]
<GM 16:45> 1 botch, 3 successes. He drops like a sack of dirt.
<EJ 16:46> I give the signal to charge in. I don't want to wait around and get caught. Gotta act fast.
<GM 16:48> Roll STR + MELEE to take out nearest scavenger. Need two 6s.
<EJ 16:48> [ 5 9 7 5 ]
<GM 16:48> Boom! You drop him.
<GM 16:54> Okay, the team executes really well and all junkies are down except for one, who has taken a young girl hostage. He's holding her by her hair and is using her as a shield, with a gun up to her chin.
<EJ 16:55> What do I need to shoot him from behind her?
<GM 16:55> wld be v tough. FIREARMS and you'd need two perfect 10s
<EJ 16:55> Can I attempt to convince him to dropit?
<GM 16:56> Sure. CHARISMA + INTIMIDATION
<EJ 16:56> Gah! I suck in all these things! Only 3 dots.
<EJ 16:56> [ 1 8 3 ]
<GM 16:57> Success and a botch cancel each other. So you're telling him it's not worth it, that's he's surrounded, all that. He looks nervous (and high) but doesn't do anything else. Keeps holding the gun.
<EJ 16:58> Okay, switch tactics. I want to intimidate him instead. Three dots still.
<GM 16:58> Roll!
<EJ 16:58> [ 3 7 7 ]
<EJ 16:58> YES!
<GM 16:58> lol. So you're shouting at him to drop the piece or you're going to blow him to hell and he looks really nervous again and just when you think he's going to turn and point the gun at you, he throws it into the dirt.
<EJ 16:59> YAY ME!
<GM 16:59> But…
<GM 17:00> A grenade flies through he window. Roll DEX + ALERT. Need two successes.
<EJ 17:00> ARG! I knew it was too easy.
<EJ 17:01> [ 8 0 9 5 1 2]
<EJ 17:01> One botch, 3 successes.
<EJ 17:01> Finally something she's good at!
<GM 17:02> Yep. The grenade blasts the hell out of some people, but not you. What do you do?
<EJ 17:02> Try to get my troops organize to return fire. I return fire if I can/
<GM 17:04> Roll CHAR or MANIP + LEADERSHIP to get them organized. Two 6s for success.
<EJ 17:04> Five dots.
<EJ 17:04> [ 1 0 8 9 0 ]
<EJ 17:05> Mama's got the hot hand!
<GM 17:05> lol. Okay, the closest four guards snap to attention. You're getting pounded though. Bodies everywhere. You can see an exit that doesn't appear covered thouh.
<EJ 17:07> I organize them to retreat in an orerly fashion. Organized and keeping eyes out
<GM 17:11> You can see a clear path for escape, a gaping hole in the attackers formation that you can run through. Poor planning on their part
<EJ 17:12> We hit it!
<GM 17:13> You're out on the streets leaving the sprung trap behind you. At a glance you must have lost at least five or six guards you'd guess.
<GM 17:13> You want to role random encounters as you beat it back to wherever, Summerland or Old Federal? Or just want to call it?
<EJ 17:14> LOL I think I'm done! Jezuz how many times do I have to get ambushed before you kill me?
<GM 17:16> let's call it then. Get back to wherever you want to regroup and we can say it happened without incident. Remember next week is sort of the wrap-up so think about how yo might want to play it and drop me an email.
<GM 17:16> More wrapping up loose ends than starting new plots.
<EJ 17:17> Roger. Will do. Over and out! Thx for a great session. Meow
