FROM: Bryce Barren Okay, you've guilt-tripped me into making my own character. Since we're making the players do it I guess we should too. My character is Betsy Hermann. Read about her here: Betsy Hermann I like this idea that people have gotten tired of living underground in sub-labs and are slowly coming to the surface. Like ticks or other parasites. Betsy was a golden child who was supposed to develop a cure for the superflu and emerge victorious from her sub-lab to be adored by the diseased masses. But this lovely idea was interrupted by reality. The well-laid plans fall apart as soon as you insert the human element and technical errors. I expect my laptop to consistently find my wireless network when I get home from a day at school , and it doesn't. That's not the way Microsoft and Apple sell this vision of the future where everything works beautifully and exactly how it has been designed, but it never seems to work that way. Is it really going to be different in a hundred years? Maybe, but I like the idea of a bored kid in a sub-lab designing a virus that can bypass security systems and basically trash the life's work of everyone in the region. Or the notion that the tech infrastructure works as long as your IT guys aren't 1) killed and eaten wandering the wastes, and 2) die of natural causes. Oops. There goes your redundancy. Add to that some natural teenage rebelliousness and you've got a recipe for disaster. More coming soon. Feedback on the character appreciated. =-BB-=
