<RP 17:29> grumble grumble
<GM 17:29> Oh no! What's up?
<RP 17:29> Nothing. work. might not be up for a full session
<GM 17:30> That's fine. You say when.
<RP 17:30> When!
<GM 17:31> So THAT's the way it's going to be then
<GM 17:31> We can make this quick. There's only one issue we should get to
<RP 17:32> Sorry. I appreciate this. Don't mean to be a loser
<GM 17:32> Don't sweat it. Life trumps gaming.
<GM 17:32> Unfortunately
<RP 17:33> LOL
<GM 17:33> So let's skip through some of the random encounter stuff. That's basically what I had prepared. A few different random encounters per day to see how you cope with only having your knife and your wits to get by.
<RP 17:35> Fine
<GM 17:36> So after a bunch of rolls no big random encounters. Let's just say that you're getting by, maybe slowly making your way day to day. You're cold and hungry and miserable, but surviging.
<RP 17:36> OK
<GM 17:38> You've found though that the blocks around the Grudow are pretty good. Despite the MPD presence lots of scavengers hang around and even trade with the guards who are off, or even on, duty at the gate. You pull your hood low so no one can see your branded face and you're worried that the muckity mucks are going to order a clear out of the neighborhood like they do from time to time and you'll get busted, but lots of easy marks coming and going from the Grudow.
<RP 17:39> OK
<GM 17:41> Until one afternoon a guy seems to notice you in particular and approaches. He catches up and grabs your arm before you can run and you feel a gun in your ribs. WALK THIS WAY he says and directs you across the street.
<RP 17:42> WHAT'S THE PROBLEM PAL? I AIN'T BOTHERING NO ONE
<GM 17:42> He directs you into an alley not too far away
<GM 17:42> THAT MARK ON YOUR FOREHEAD MEANS WE HAVE TALKING TO DO. I DON'T CARE HOW YOU GOT IT. DON'T LOOK AT MY FACE he says and brandishes the gun.
<RP 17:43> SO? START TALKING?
<GM 17:43> HOW'D YOU LIKE TO GET BACK AT THE BASTARDS YOU DID THAT TO YOU?
<RP 17:43> *talking.
<RP 17:44> I THINK I'D LIKE THAT VERY MUCH. WHAT ARE YOU PROPOSING?
<GM 17:44> A LITTLE ODD JOB. WE NEED MEN WHO KNOW HOW TO WORK TOGETHER AND FIRE GUNS. GOT A PROBLEM WITH SOME MPD SQUADS WHO FEEL THAT THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, WHENEVER THEY WANT. THEY NEED TO BE TAUGHT A LESSON IN HUMILITY.
<RP 17:45> WHO IS WE?.
<GM 17:45> ME AND THE MOUSE IN MY POCKET. YOU IN OR WHAT?
<RP 17:46> WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
<GM 17:46> REVENGE FOR STARTERS
<RP 17:47> AND?
<GM 17:47> A FEW HOT MEALS. SOME GOOD WEAPONS. ALL THE LOOT YOU CAN SCAVENGE OFF THE BODIES ONCE THE JOB IS DONE. PROMISE OF MORE WORK IF THE JOB GOES DOWN WELL.
<RP 17:48> WHAT GUARANTEES DO I HAVE?
<GM 17:49> GUARANTEES? PAL, FROM WHERE I'M STANDING, YOU'RE NOT BARGAINING FROM A POSITION OF POWER. THIS IS A TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT OFFER. PISS ME OFF AND I CAN MARCH YOU BACK OVER TO THOSE GATES, PULL THAT HOOD OFF, AND MAYBE COLLECT A REWARD.
<RP 17:50> good point (lol)
<RP 17:51> I ACCEPT YOUR OFFER
<GM 17:51> Meet me back here tomorrow at dawn.
<GM 17:51> (oops, CAPS that last line)
<GM 17:52> and then he's gone
<RP 17:52> Intrigue. I like it.
<GM 17:53> So do we FF to tomorrow morn?
<RP 17:53> Yes. If we can get to a breaking point I'd appreciate it.
<GM 17:56> So the same dude shows up and escorts you to a burned out warehouse not too far away and you find another group of guys, a dozen in all, some of whom have the mark of the O on their heads but most don't. Lots wear scarves over their faces and you're offered one too. The morning is spent eating some hot food (hard to do with scarves on) and being lectured on a few basic tactical maneuvers you learned at the Rock on advancing on a held position. You walk through your paces a few times surrounding a dumpster and pretending to blast the hell out of it.
<RP 17:56> I put the scarf on. ust in case
<GM 17:58> No one talks much, and if anyone does they're glared at. You're given these super high-tech sniper rifles that seem to want to aim for you. As someone who is a bit of a marksman you find this a little awkward but there's no easy way to turn it off and you're not about to ask.
<RP 17:59> What do you mean it does the aiming for me?
<GM 18:00> The scope picks targets and the barrel wants to follow whatever has been targeted.
<RP 18:01> How do I pick my targets?
<GM 18:01> Ah, that's the tricky part. And they don't want you firing test shots since that might draw too much attention. So you're just getting used to the targeting mechanism as people run in and out of the sight. It's tricky, like I said.
<GM 18:02> And as the sun fades you get prepared for your ambush at a location not far from here...
<GM 18:02> That good
<RP 18:04> That's sweet. Revenge is a dish best served cold. So we're on next week when?
<GM 18:05> It's gonna be nuts. NExt Sunday. Like 8 people gaming at once. Check your email and clear your calendar.
<RP 18:06> Will do! thx for understanding my sitch
