Alcy Lukowski (10 Sept 2081) is a schoolteacher at Summerland and daughter of Barrett Lukowski.

Early life and family

Alcy is the second-youngest of six children belonging to Barrett and Abele Lukowski. Soft spoken but resilient, Alcy was something of a favorite both with her parents and with her siblings. Mature beyond her years, Alcy often played peacekeeper among the children and was the voice of calm and reason during the tense years of isolation living in the Rock. She regrets not being old enough to enjoy an adult relationship with her mother and eldest sister who were taken by the superflu, and her brother Poul, who was killed during the family's flight to safety at the Rock. She grieved terribly over the death of her brother Philip during the MPD's Project Reclamation some years later. Though her remaining siblings love her dearly, especially her younger sister Gemma, they do find she can be a bit clingy.

With her father's encouragement, she began standardizing an educational curriculum for the children living in the Summerland settlement, though she herself was in her late teens. In her mid-20s, she met and fell in love with a rank-and-file guard named Terrence Rabeneck and the couple married after a short courtship. Her father promoted her husband to sergeant, trusting him to carry out the most sensitive of projects.

Disposition and traits

Alcy overflows with warmth and compassion. She is a natural leader though she inspires through quiet, reserved confidence and by helping others find their own strengths. She is a gifted educator and has helped her students see rays of hope shining through the gloom of their difficult lives. She creates connections with others seemingly without effort, though she bristles at the limited opportunities she sees for women in the violent world of Rivertown. More recently, she has become frustrated with her father's tendency to be overbearing and overprotective.

She is deeply in love with her husband but worries that the secretive nature of his work will drive a wedge between them.

Goals and motivations

Alcy's goals have become more ambitious in recent months. While she believes in the educational work, new teacher training, and building a library at Summerland, she wishes to expand to teaching courses on ethics to become standard for trainees at the Rock. This has met with resistance from her father and General Marshall Johnson, neither of whom see value in such a program.

More controversially, she has floated the idea of sending outreach groups into the city to make inroads with the scavenger population. Her father flew into such a rage upon hearing her proposal that she no longer mentions it, but has not stopped planning on her own time.

Alcy lives and teaches in Lukowski Terrace in Summerland.
