A club (also baton, nightstick, truncheon) is a blunt weapon used to strike an opponent.

Physical description

Clubs come in many shapes in sizes, from the police-issued truncheon to the pool cue and lead pipe. Clubs can be made of wood, metal, or hardened plastic. Manufactured clubs have many features, such as a wrist strap, improved grip, and other features to maximize striking capability; clubs fashioned from everyday items such as pipes or table legs will often be modified to increase damage. For example, a pipe may be filled with dirt or gravel to increase its weight; wooden clubs may have nails or screws driven through one end to provide a slashing/tearing component to an attack.

Traits and usage

Clubs are most often used in the context of combat, either as an offensive or defense weapon. Clubs were a popular non-lethal weapon used by riot police and security guards during the years of social chaos. Smaller commericial models were also big sellers among citizens of Rivertown as they could be kept in a backpack, vehicle, or suitcase in case of attack.

Rarity and value

Self-fashioned clubs are common in Rivertown, as many different types of debris can be used to create a formidable weapon. Manufactured clubs are uncommonly found, yet still in plentiful supply.
